Is there any difference(performance wise) between sata 3 & 6 gbps of hdd. Motherboard is asus m5a88m. How much percent gain if i use sata 6gbps over 3gbps.
AFAIK you won't notice any performance gain as far as HDD is concerned. Today's HDD can't even use 3gbps(i.e SATA II). A 7200 RPM hdd with 32-64 mb cache wud be my choice if i want to use it for gaming be it 3 or 6 gbps coz it doesnt really matter at all. WD caviar black or blue is a good deal IMO.
3gbps= 380 MB/s Approx( correct me if i am wrong) and trust me you wont even get close to that speed on a HDD. Only SSD's can deliver that much of bandwidth.
