Data retrieval from dead pen drive

I have a 2GB pen drive which has suddenly died on me. The computer lists it as an unrecognised USB device, and it does not show up in My Computer. I tried the stick in 3 other PCs with same result.

I don't mind the dead pen drive, but there were data in it which I would like to retrieve. Is there a way out? Any suggestions, anybody?
