.dat to .avi conversion - Audio/video mismatch

I used many converters. eg. xillisoft video converter

I am just not able to convert vcd files .dat to .avi or .mp4

conversion is ok but there is a mismatch between sound and video...quite a few secs.

This happens ONLY with .dat vcd files and not with other video files.

How do i convert .dat files to .avi without audio/video mismatch?

Use VirtualDub for converison from dat/vcd/mpg to avi...

and go to www.doom9.org for info on compression and sync and all...

virtualdub is grt tool...i have compresses about full 5 movies....from 2 cds to 1 700MB avi..best quality of video and audio both...
mainly...u can do mp3 CBR 96 kbps + video bitrate in XVID abt 600 kbps... (for DVDs u cna even do less bitrates)..

and do it in 2pass...
firat test all setings u like on small 5 mb file...and then do for full movie.. got it?

x264 latest AVC codec which gives more quality and less size..(means lower bitrate and high quality)..

just use vcd gear and copy .dat as .mpg stream...
see if this gives u right results

which codec are you using BTW ??
if u r using DivX, revert back to some older version like 5.2.1
