I'm using Avast v4.6 Home Edition in Windows XP+SP2. The On-Access Protection has been turned of by itself since some days back and I can't activate the On-Access or launch the Anti-Virus. Manual Scanning is also not possible.

Repair, changing or reinstalling did not help.

1. When running the Quick Scanner, an error message saying [Program cannot create "Object" in "Storage"] appears.

2. And when trying to start the anti-virus, the following error messages appear consecutively:

"Unkown Error. Configuration is not loaded properly. Err: dbsCreateObject"

"Unkown Error. Program cannot save parameters to the storage! (Error: dbsCreateObject)"

3. And when trying to start the On-Access Protection, the following error message appears:

"avast!: The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error. The opeartion could not be completed."

Please help.

uninstall avast.
search for and delete all 'avast' files/folders, physically.
reboot.
download and use 'ccleaner' from www.ccleaner.com to clear pc junk.
reboot.
do a fresh avast instal.

Then reinstall and report.
