CORRUPTED IE 6

i can do anything with my ie 6 when i type url and hit enter it shows
nothing website is not loading in ie not even "the page cannot be
displayed message" i checked my firewall settings and every thing i could
still it is not working. when i tried to reinstall it by downloading from
microsoft website setup showed a message a higher version of ie found
setup cannot continue.then i searched help and support of microsoft website
and tried to reinstall by edit the registry but still it is not working.

my os is: win xp sp2 home edition

you can uninstall it using ur add rem ...if it does not work ....then chk ur browser settings ..delete all the history/files/online-offline contents etc......also chk if ur firewall is using any proxy..or ur browser has been takin any non existing proxy.....if nothin works i wud suggest get opera/firefox/maxthon....these are much better Browsers than IE...
