connecting hard disk to laptop

I have a seagate 80gb hard disk with me...i wantd to transfer some data from the hard drive to my lapop...can anybody tell me which cable can be used to directly connect the hard drive to laptop(the cpu is not there)... oris there any alternate way to do the same thing.

If you dont personally own the hard disk, you can buy a usb to ide converter. Check here Or else get a external usb casing for your 3.5" hard disk. Would cost near about 1k.
