Go for the Pentium D and not Pentium 4, which's outdated today.

Wait for other guys to post the specs which might suit you :)

30k is way to less. Don't expect to game. Don't expect to even run Vista smoothly if you buy a TFT in this budget.

Anyway, this is what you can get:

AMD 64 3000 AM2 with aftermarket cooling(optional-for overclocking)
M2N E or M5N E, not sure, anyway there are lot of problems especially memory problems, you need to check them out.
2 X 512MB DDR2 667 Corsair Value(d9 chips) / Transcend or other if not supported
80GB SATA II
el cheapo PCI E
15" TFT

Which board are you referring to by M2N E or M5N E? I thought you were referring to my Asus A8N-E board which is great for overclocking and I also have no problems with my overclocked memory whatsover.

By the way, if it is A8N-E you are referring to, then it is socket 939 board. So will have to buy a 3000+ 939 pin processor.

If you are mentioning AM2 compatible motherboards, then I have the following in mind on low-medium range.

ASUS M2V Socket AM2 VIA K8T890 ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2N-MX Socket AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2N4-SLI Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2N-E Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2N-E Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
... etc.

Make your choice depending on price...

forget the Pentium 4,Pentium D and the AMD Anthlon64...and get an
Intel Core2Duo E6300.

I think both a TFT monitor and a core2duo will be impossible in a budget of 30k. And who says AMD AM2 is bad? It still offers one of the best values for money, both the single core and the dual core X2 that is. You can now get a 3500+ for around Rs.6000.

And that is not Anthlon64 by the way, it is Athlon 64.
