As xmp supposedly ocs the memory controller to run at higher speeds, can it possibly affect the cpu's or mobo's durability?

I don't think it will affect mobo as long as its within the max supported OC memory listed. Most users don't fine tune the timings, just run the RAM at the max possible freq supported, say you bought a 3600MHz RAM but it runs at maybe 2666MHz by default & needs you to use XMP to select 3600.

Should have no effect on CPU IMO.

For AMD, they became integrated back in Athlon 64 days (year 2003).

For Intel, they became integrated with first generation Core i processors (Nehalem, year 2008).
