I don't think it will affect mobo as long as its within the max supported OC memory listed. Most users don't fine tune the timings, just run the RAM at the max possible freq supported, say you bought a 3600MHz RAM but it runs at maybe 2666MHz by default & needs you to use XMP to select 3600.As xmp supposedly ocs the memory controller to run at higher speeds, can it possibly affect the cpu's or mobo's durability?
Should have no effect on CPU IMO.
