Config help for new system

Right off the assembly line
Hi all,

Please advice!
I am in a dilemma of buying a desktop or a laptop. budget 50-55k

MY current System Specs are
INTEL P4 2.4Gzh
INTEL 845s Mobo
NVIDIA 128mb FX5200 Graphic card
512 mb DDR1 RAM
Some cabinet and regular powersupply(i guess 350w)
Microsoft Keyboard n Mouse

I have 4-5 internal harddisks and use them in a external case
4ATA= 40GB+60 GB+ 160GB+ 160 GB
2 SATA= 160GB + 350 GB
(All in warranty except 60 & 40 gb)

Currently I am using 2 ATA 60+160GB in the desktop

My LG 17" monitor got messed up lately. Its lying like crap & is out
of warranty too.

MY USAGE
Multimedia ,Designing(ADOBE SUITE),Developing
Encoding and ripping
Gaming(Just a little less than hardcore)
Surfing (Pretty Much all day)

IF DESKTOP
Please suggest me options on
Monitor 22"/23" ( HDMI must)
Cabinet
Motherboard
Processor
Graphic card
Ram

A future proof config would be appreciated.
I have heard heating issues about AMD,I don't know
if there is actualy a problem. Please throw some light on it too.

I would not require a new harddisk as I already
have a 350gb Sata. Also I have to sell my Old rig.
Would want to get rid of the 2 160GB internal ATA drives and buy a portable
drive.

IF LAPTOP
Please suggest!

So please suggest me if with this budget what
should be a decent buy.

Thanx in advance guys

get these:

Processor: Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz @ 10k
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H @ 8.5k or get the MSI 890GX based motherboard @ 8k or get a board based on 870X chipset (no integrated graphics)
Ram: Corsair 2X2Gb DDR3-1333 Value @ Rs.5.8k
Graphics Card: MSI HD5770 HAWX 1GB GDDR5 @ 9.6k
PSU: Cooler Master GX-550W @ 4.4k
Cabinet: Cooler Master 690 @ 4.5k
Hard Drive: Samsung 1TB @ 3.5k (better use 1 HDD else performance can take a hit. dump 40, 60 & 160Gbs)
Monitor: Benq E2200HD 22” FULL HD @ 9k
UPS: APC Back BE 650Y-IN @ 3k (will be needed)

Total: 57.8k. this will serve your purpose well.

about heating issue, now its history. yes sometimes the heatsinks on the Phenom II X4 have turned out to be faulty. however no problem with the X6s. & they run way cooler than other AMD or Intel parts.

BTW why do you need HDMI?
