the dvd writer doesnt work

it sometimes reads dvd and sometimes doesn't(dono why).
its battery backup is 20 mins or so
warranty period is over.
IT HAS NO OTHER PROBLEMS.


but it works anyway and it ran fifa 09 and spell force 2 (got lucky)

true, if you are ready to give it away as scrap any price is good. man I went to scrap market of electronics they will give me only 1200 bucks for my good 17 inch CRT, which does not have any fault. it makes me cry.

BTW, I would also add Tathaga has put it decently the problems.
any external DVD burner would cost more or less same as the slim DVD burner of a laptop, and battery always deteriorates with time especially older Compaq models.
