Colour banding problem with hp pavilion g6 1318ax laptop

I have noticed from the past weeks I have colour banding issue on my laptop.My laptop comes with an amd A4 processor and Radeon dual graphics HD 6480G and HD7450M.The colour banding issue is really troubling me and its more visible with some movies and games.Even there is visible colour banding with the wallpaper too.I am not a techie kind of person and I bought this laptop for basic editing purposes.But the colour banding problem is visible everywhere so it defeats that purpose.
And I can notice more weird banding when I chane the colour from 32 bit to 16 bit.can anybody guide me to solve this problem.Thanks in advance.

how old is your laptop? is it in warranty periods? and which driver version are you using?

My laptop is roughly 4 months old and it is under warranty.The driver version is the one which I downloaded directly from hp website itself.The driver version number is 8.900.7.1000 for Windows 7 64 bit.
