Cant view video Dvds

well i am also unable to run the T2 dvd . My sys config:
P3 (Compaq presario 5000 M), 128 MB ram , 60 gb hdd , win xp professional witn no service pack , Cd rom + dvd rom . When i try to open the dvd in my computer it says :
Please insert a disc => Its not being recognized

In the device manager it shows the drive as a dvd drive.
When i tried another video dvd same happened .
They work fine on my friends pc.Also i am able to run the dvds(software) that come along digit . I have formatted my system once so i suppose theres somethig missing . In the

When i run DVDUPGRD /DETECT :
it shows 2 codescs installed : mpeg16.dll and clvsd.ax .

I have installed windvd and compaq dvd player but still there is the same prob.

well i think the dvd must not be compatible with ur combo
1st check with nero disk info tool to know which type of dvd disk it is , it will be +R or -R ,
now check with nero info tool if ur combo supports +R if yes then this might not be the problem if it doesn't support +R then u can't run the +R dvd
or if this doesn't help try cleaning the combo's tray with a soft cloth and the lens with a good lens cleaner

Understood your Problem completely. Had a very long discussion in this forum...

Well it would be easy had you searched it..anyways...heres the link...read it carefully you will get every bit...

BTW my system is PIII, 1Ghz, Compaq Presario 5000 , DVD ROM , 64 SD RAM....its looks similar except RAM which probably you upgraded...If am not mistaken..you have the same PC with speakers stuck on either sides of monitors rite ?? Anyways...
