CAN'T OPEN YAHOO MAIL

Digit forum members,

I can't open yahoo mail in my IE I am using win XP sp1.I have deleted all cookies and internet temporary files.

What may be the problem?

What ERROR actually u r getting?
Is this problem coming only for Yahoo! or all the sites?

I am getting the error

"this page cannot be displayed"

This problem coming only and only for
yahoo mail.

I have contacted my ISP and he is saying that
this has nothing to do with his server.

Hv u neother browser installed on ur system?
If yes, then try to open in others too...

so the problem is with all the browser check it again with ur ISP bcoz they may have some fault.

Problem seems related to DNS.
Try to use some Proxies...

Can you ping mail.yahoo.com ?

Start>run>cmd>ping mail.yahoo.com

Post the result back here.

Open your hosts file and if there is a entry against mail.yahoo.com or yahoo.com as 127.0.0.1 then delete that line.

good problem...when you can ping yahoo...clearly eliminates problem of dns.....y not try winsockfix repair? I have been into this problem and winsockfix did work...may not work 100% but y not try....here is the download link

And if you find another way to solve this prob please let me know as I have been thru this prob earlier and don't know the exact reason and solution

Lol that is the IP address of mail.yahoo.com.

So when you type mail.yahoo.com in your browser address bar & press enter,the domain name resolves to 66.218.75.184.

Ofcourse there is a process of domain name resolution,i've just cut short to the point.
