Cant Install ati catalyst drivers on laptop with mobility 9k

I tried the package in digit as well as in the chip cds but none of them work and give an error.No message just some number.
I thought of upgrading to the latest version of the driver because i think it would have some utility like the nvidia drivers that will prevent windows from opening offscreen.(I started having this problem after i installed yz shadow.i want the effects i want to use that software but as soon as i restore any window it goes to the left side where i cant see it.)
So please tell me how i can update the driver or if theres any other app that prevents windows from opening offscreen.or an updated version of yz shadow(i think they stopped making yz apps like yz dock yztoolbar etc...)

yeah, download the cats. run install and let it extract files. installation will exit. download and run this utlity: *www.driverheaven.net/patje/

mobility modder will ask the location for the extracted files. provide the path. select ur chipset from the drop down menu and click "start mod". after modding takes place, quit the modder program and run setup again. this way you can install the cats even for those mobility cards which are officially not supported by cats.

okay so now i get it.mobility cards are not supported by catalyst drivers.so there are some other drivers for mobility radeons?

well actually wot ati says is that the drivers are provided by respective manufacturers. this is coz ati is an oem supplier. so all support must be provided by the company, according to ati. however, ati has recently started supporting some mobility products in their cats. not all products are supported tho. but you are get a workaround for this by using the mobility modder. the products are not so different from their desktop counterparts. so the modder modifies the .ini files and .inf files which makes the card visible to the cats and they can be installed.

also, theres an alternative set of drivers called omega drivers which can be downloaded from: *www.omegadrivers.net/

you don't hafta mod anything. just install the drivers.

I prefer omega drivers too..they are great nd gives at least 10%higher frame rates

notebook with ati graphics have mobility catalysts which have separate drivers.if u use omega drivers u will get a perfomance boost but qwerty will it support notebook drivers also?

hey guys i`m stuck again.i tried the omega drivers but thy had totally screwed up my pc.the electronic arts easy info tool was showing my processor speed as 500 when its 1.5 then it was showing 16mb video memory when the card actually has 32 mb.And it didnt help me play nfs most wanted either.So i want other suggestions.
do u have some app that prevents windows from opening outside the desktop?or maybe a version of yz shadow that dosent have such problem.
edit: ati has mobility catalyst but the latest version does not support 9000.if someone out there is running nfs most wanted successfully on a moility radeon 9000 please help me.

i downloaded the ati modder but when i ran it it said some of its dependencies were missing.what does this mean?can u mail me the modder if u have a working copy?
