Can't connect Asus RT-n13 u :(

i can't connect my asus rt-n13 u with tp link modem.Internet led is on,but still when i connect the internet through asus wifi,the internet doesn't connects,is it may be because i have entered user name and password on both modem/router?I have checked it..but it doesn't works either..please help me

P.s. I am on BSNL.

first of all user id/pass only need to be entered in either modem or router,not both.second,need more details like how you were connecting to net earlier using only modem & what settings did you exactly used when connecting asus to tp-link.
