Can Windows 7 Drivers work With Windows 8.1?

I have following Hardware
Core i7 950
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) MotherBoard
Sapphire 5870 1GB
Gskill Ripjawz 24GB 1600 Mhz

I got driver of gpu from amd site but Gigabyte didn't Publish the Driver for windows 8 last year when i emailed them for driver they send me list of new mobo which have windows 8 driver so i wanted to know that whether those driver (drivers of Win 7 sp1 X64) will support Win 8.1 Pro X64 or not?

Drivers are always OS Specific. And you should not try drivers for other OS on another OS. Though sometimes it works due to compatibility reasons, but max time it fails and worsen the situation, random BSOD's etc.

Better try to find Drivers for your Specific OS as suggested above or you can rely on Win 8 to find and download the drivers for you. (On 90% of cases, both Win 7 & Win 8 finds drivers automatically from internet)

Agree with Krishnandu. Windows 7 drivers will not work on Windows 8. Wait a bit may be they will release drivers for Windows 8.1.
