can laptop wifi be used for gaming like lan

Hi,i would like to know if laptop wifi can be used for gaming.....like lan
for example:- if i create a game in warcraft in multiplayer lan mode can my friend detect the game tht i have created via wifi....???

i have used wifi to play counter stirke wid my friends...without any router...not very sure about warcraft but i guess it should work...

Yes you can. Create a adhoc wifi connection from the wireless manager in control panel. Then get the other laptop to connect to it and then start the game and search for hosts on lan in the multiplayer option.
It will surely show up.
