Call recording app on custom rom

Device - Redmi Note 4, Resurrection Remix Pie 7.0.2 with Magisk and EdXposed.

I used Call Recorder SKVALEX trial version for 2-3 months. Installed app's Magisk module and used trial version. *play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.skvalex.cr.unlock
(After trial expired I deleted module, uninstalled app. Then waited for new version, this allowed me to use trial app again and again :) )
I liked it very much. I want to purchase it.
This will be my first paid app on play store, are there any better discounts for 1st time payment. App price is constant from beginning i.e. ₹720

Also, which app you use for call recording on Pie Custom ROM?

720 is too much for an app. I would atleast give another apps a try before purchasing the same. Try ACR, Boldbeast call recorder.

Tried many.. but not working.. trial app getting detected again and again..

Tried some patched/modded/cracked apks, also tried some non Google Play Store apks.. no luck.. without root on android pie, recording is bad on these different versions of SKVALEX apks..
Tried adding Root add-on for SKVALEX call recorder but not working..

Only dialer is working properly but it needs manual record button.. and sometimes I forgot to press it..

Then only option is to contact the dev and ask for discount. Yes some do give discounts this way.

Xiaomi still supports it?
I tested once, called myself and recorded, then I got on the call that I needed to record (need to do it as a journalist). What happened was only my side was recorded. It was a Xiaomi Mi 3, but with a custom ROM.
Will have to check again.
Normally, PR also records and sends or keeps so that there are two copies in case there are any contentions in what was said, or problems in recording, or because each party is clearer on their own side because of network issues, (these calls can go on for hours and invariably there are a couple of drops at least) but after this Android update, they also have to use complicated setups involving third party providers (so the call is routed through a service that supports recording).

How does the app work? Does it route the call through third parties then record (this is reliable, but expensive and usually subscription based), or does it natively record? AFAIK, native recording is not possible without custom ROMs.

The functionality for recording calls like older times is still built in android APIs but just disabled by google without root/system access,it is up to manufacturers to enable those functions & implement their own call recording feature. Custom ROMs achieve this in same manner. Xiaomi/Realme etc have enabled this feature in India as there is no local law against it but in countries where there is such a law,they keep disabled this function.

P.S. miui 11/k20 has this feature where you can enable auto call recording for all calls(incoming or outgoing) so after enabling this option you don't need to do anything else other than the usual dialing number/receiving call & after the call ends you will get a notification that the call was recorded.:)

Let's for the record mention the oem's who have enabled call recording without root
Samsung, op, K20 like you have mentioned(Why is redmi allowing this functionality in some phones and not all), any other oem?

In India it is not against the law so most Chinese manufacturers have enabled this function as it is also completely acceptable in their home country(aka China,the land of surveillance). Also any such phone in which such functionality is enabled by manufacturer,any 3rd party call recording app will work without needing root. Of course in countries where it is against local laws to record call these companies will not enable it(earlier this function was enabled by default so all the responsibility lies with end user but now manufacturer has to take responsibility if it enables a function disabled by default). I thought all recent redmi phones coming with pie have this functionality,can you name a redmi phone which comes with pie & not having this feature.

Yes,Oct sale is the biggest/cheapest opportunity to get almost any product especially electronics.
