Bypassing my college firewall

My College firewall does not allow me to connect to things like Kazaa,edonkey and IRC.
If you are trying to suggest a tunneling software named Hopster , they ve blocked it too.
What i heard is if u have someone else , outside , who has a 24 hrs. broadband connection then u can use his connection through Apache or something to bypass and connect to things which are blocked here.

Can some one plz elaborate and explain , which software to use and how can i go about doing this.

I have a similar doubt. Can http proxies be used for this? U know the public ones? Can they cross-connect to another port/protocol?

No .. i dont think http proxies can be used . They can be for websites that are blocked but not for other things like Kazaa and all .

do they allow SSH a tunneling software....? A complete guide was given in the digit mag. few months back
