Buying Guides for PS2

I am going to to buy a New/OLD PS2..I need few suggestions like>>what is the latest model,which model is better?what are the issues that should taken care during the purchasing???

i recently purchased ps2(In Feb).the current model avalable in the market is scph77004.it is slim and black colour.i purchased it in vijayawada(Andhra Pradesh) for 7200(with Mod Chip)And 700 For Memory Card.Before Buying My PS2 I enquiry In Chennai(Mount Road).They says 6400(PS2)+500(Memory Card).But I Purchased In Vij.Because Chennai Market Is Not Reliable.They Change Original Lens To Duplicate Lens.So U get Problems After Some Time.
So My Suggestion Is To Buy Only In Reliable Shop.

Before U Buy Check The PS2 In Shop By Inserting ps2 ps1 DVD Movies Discs working or not.The Sellers gives PS2 Console+1 Analog Controler + AV Cable + AC Adopter + AC Power Card With The Package.
