Buying A phone from US

hey
i was thinking about asking my friend to get me Ipad 2 or iphone when he returns from US next month
can please anybody tell me what are the risks involved in getting it from US? I mean warranty, after sales service etc.
I dont have any idea about it. so plz help

There is no problem or any risk involved in getting it from US.
Apple provide International warranty with all its products but it wont be valid on iphone 4S as it hasn't been launched in India till yet

It means Carrier Locked and Unlocked. Like a locked Airtel phone, will only work with Airtel SIM cards. While an unlocked would support all mobile operators.

You'll need to ask him to get an unlocked phone.
