Buying a laptop with a budget of 50K need help

Guys,

I want to buy a laptop with a budget of 50K.I have kept 5k adiitional to the amount for buying extended warrenty.

My requirements are very basic laptop will be used mainly for surfing doing some MS office tasks and occational movie viewing.

Please suggest good laptops I intend to keep it for next 3-4 years for the above requirment only.

all there belongs to same lenovo series difference is in processor... and so in price range..
and definately go for extended warranty..
i purchases my lenovo laptop with 4yr warranty.. now 1 yr is left..

ohk den if u will nt use ur laptop for gaming or oder high end application like photoshop,etc Dell Studio XPS 16 Laptop it has got ultimate display..

or Sony Vaio VPCS133GN/B - battery life upto 4hr.. bt nt meant for gaming and oder high end application..

neways.. u dnt play games or use oder video/picture editing software?

I won't be using any photoshop or any video editor. but i usually convert my HD videos fron sony handycam to mpeg-4 format so that i can watch them on my tv. I saw xps 15 with i5 and 4 GB RAM it fulfills my requirement.But with 2 years of complete coverage its costing me 61K.

i'll provide the break up:-

Base system with i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard disk, 1GB graphics card---49900/-
Additional warranty for 2 years is 5500/-
i also opted for 9 cell battery -- 1500/- additional with 15 months of Macfee 900/- and backlit keyboard for 800/- something

Total comes around 58800/-

3years XPS support and complete cover costs 12K additional to 1 year standard warranty.

now yest I called DELL customer care they are offering 5% corporate discount with 2 years warranty and 8% with three years for my company employes( If you are working with an MNC u mentioned it to them and they will tell u if u r eligible for a discount)
this offer is valid till this month ends as per them.

now after this i opted for 3 years warranty and total system with additional changes as mentioned above came to 66700/-

after discount they gave me a quote of 61300/- and promised delivery in 10 days.

i mst say warranty is quite costly now.. so final wid this model??
and dont buy macfee for 900/-... install avira antivirus that will work too..

Thanks Guys for all your suggestions i bought Dell XPS 15 i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard disk, 1GB 420M Nvidia + 3 years complete cover,the system is in transit.

With a budget of 30k i'll go and pick up Inspiron 14R with core I3 + Genuine Windows® 7 Home Basic 64 bit (English) +2GB+ 320Gb HDD.
check out sony laptops VPCEB31EN/BI it is little over 33k and VPCM126AG/P for 23k something.

hey how did you pay for it? online or at dell store.

are they any extra charges for payment via dell india online store?

Even i have the same requirements at yours. So which one will you suggest me?

also will there be any difference in price including customs(if any) if i purchase from DELL US STORE online?

I paid it using my credit card after calling there customer care using there IVRS, there are no extra charges.
Don't go to dell store u will not get any discounts or offers directly call there customer care.In my personal opinion thats the best and fastest way to buy from dell.

If you have same requirements like me then i will suggest you my config only.

If you are purcahsing through Dell US site you need to provide a local address in US,they won't ship to INDIA, then you have to bring it here by your own means.If you are asking somebody to bring that system with him just ask him not to bring the packing just bring it in luggage. there won't be any custom duty to be paid.But that person should carry one only laptop with him.

I'll will suggest you to buy from INDIA only i also checked it that way there is not much of a difference in price after considering everything and you can't transfer your DELL US warrenty to INDIA.
