Well best of luck finding a decent gaming PC from the Indian Branded PC makers....

Let me know if you can find one.

For gaming needs with price no bar, Alienware is the way to go, but you cant get it in India AFAIK... Since Gaming is not a serious industry in India, top brands do not provide Gaming Computers... Better go for assembled one... Or try best available config from company and ask for upgrade of:
1. RAM - min 1 GB
2. HDD - go for large ones such as 160 or 250 GB
3. 17" Monitor minimum
4. Surround Speakers from Altec Lansing, Creative or Logitech
5. Dedicated Graphics Card
6. Logitech G5 laser mouse and G15 Gaming Keyboard

actually, AFAIK, there is no Branded Gaming PC. All hardcore gamers build their own PC. If u still wanna buy a branded PC, get any Dell Dimension and enjoy for 1year, after which it will start losing its taste....and then buy another one after a year...;)....sice price is no BAR !!

viewsonic VX 724 TFT (17")[around 19500 RS]
afaik a tft screen/monitor doesnt suit a gaming pc due its slower response times[Team Digit has told us tht umpteen times], instead go in for a 19"/17" true flat screen monitor...

Viewsonic has got very good reponse time-3ms. Its better than any CRT....but a bit costly.
another thing, if price is no bar, get AMD Athlon X2 4800+ (@1000$) and ATI X1900 Crossfire(@600$) and enjoy gaming for the next 5 yrs. 8)

@mathew any difference between 45K and 45000? then why posting twice.

@genre if ur frnd wants to go for branded then best option is to buy good pc and get it upgraded in company shop. else its better to buy assembled from some nice shop. with price no bar he will also provide warranty!

Unfortunately, the Indian Branded Gaming PC market is virtually non-existent. While in the US, there's the Dell XPS, Alienware, Falcon-Northwest, etc., the Indian market has nothing to offer. The closest you can get in the Dell Dimension range. But on the Dell India site, there is no mention of any Dimension desktops. Call Dell and get price quotes from them.

A better option would be to find a trustworthy assembler and buy an assembled PC. Stay away from pretenders such as Zenith.

If price is no bar i think u can order one from above... look for this config..

AMD Athlon FX-60 (basically dual core FX-57, 2 FX-57 in one core)
DFI Lanparty nF4 ultra SLI mobo
2x7800GT 512 Mb GFX card
Western Digital 1000 rpm HDD..
2x1Gb Ballistix

Contact Dell- *www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/ap/topics/contacts/en/enin_contacts?c=in&l=en&s=bsd

And hey guys, isn't X1900 crossfire better than 7800GTX SLI (unless on an intel or nvidia board)

^^ Exactly, X1900 Crossfire is better. It is also better than X1900 XTX, and I don't know why people still insist on XTX ?? :? :)

uying the latest comp is like buying the latest newspaper... It gets old everyday... Going for a branded comp is like going for a laser printed newspaper. The stufff is the same anyway...

Anyway, if he's that serious about gaming, let him go for the 7800 card, i heard it costs ~35K.

Ummm....i dunno.....but maybe u converted that price from dollars....in India...7800 SLI costs around 55k.........and crossfire is cheaper than SLI by about 60-100$
