boots up slowly.....

hi guys i am having problem with time xp takes to boot. it takes 2-3 min before i can work
my config p4 2.4ghz
845 mobo-256mb ram
xp-sp2
i hv zone alarm, aol kasper sky AV, windows defender i hv disabled all other services from start up.........

i think win defender scaning at the start up making it slow down
can ny one help???

goto run>services.msc, disable any unwanted services
zone alarm & other virus scanners/firewall can increase boot time. disable them using msconfig or goto their options(preferences,... watever) and uncheck Run at Windows Startup

sp2 boots more slowly than xp with sp1, bcoz of all windows security features.
if u want to boot super-fast add more RAM. > 512 will definitely help

You can use 'Startup Control Panel' a freeware to modify your startup programmes so that Ur machine boots faster.The link for the software is :
