Booting problem

Hi mates,

I have a strange problem with my new lenovo laptop

I recently downloaded a linux mint 9 live cd and booted from it ,it works fine in my desktop computer with p4 processor and also runs fine in another sahara laptop .....

But when i use it to boot from my lenovo sl400c laptop, it seems to boot, but nothing appears... just a blank screen..and the laptop hangs..

Then i restarted my laptop and now a strange thing happens...
The first boot device is automatically changed to network and
My hard drive is set to ACHI which crashes my windows log on..
So i have to change achi to compatible mode and also change the first boot device to anything other than network every time after i try to boot from this linux distro...

Can anyone figure out what is the problem.... my laptop specs are as in my signature...

It could be some piece of hardware that its not capable of detecting or configuring. Does ubuntu 10.04 boot on your laptop ? Just curious since Mint is based on Ubuntu.
