I have burnt iso images of Fedora Core 3 on to CDs and installed it on my system, the installation was fine except that the boot loader (i.e. GRUB does'nt boot Linux or Windows, it simply displays Error 2. I tried to install Grub again with 1st installation disk in following way :
linux rescue
chroot /mnt/sysimage
grub-install /dev/hda
Grub installed successfully, but again the same error message is displayed when I reboot my system.
I even tried a third party boot loader XOSL ( Extended Operating System Loader ), it boots my XP partition, but hangs when I try to boot Linux. Kindly help me eliminate this problem so that I can run Fedora Core 3 smoothly.

There seems to be no problem with your boot loader.

Can you post the exact message here... Post everything that grub says, not just Error 2. like that... that way it would be easier to diagnose the problem.

I think the problem is with incorrect partition entries inside grub conf file. Can you also tell your partition information?
