In Windows XP with SP2 there are two ways to use bluetooth devices with your computer.

First, In XP with SP2 the driver comes pre-installed on your computer so you don't need to install any special drivers for it. Just connect the bluetooth doungle to any USB port on your system and you will immediately see a Bluetooth icon on your taskbar notification area. (A blue icon)

If in case you donot see this icon, then remove the doungle from the USB port and then go to START ---> RUN ---> services.msc

And then look for an entry there -- "Bluetooth Support Services" , START this service by clicking on the START.

Now , re-connect the dougle to the USB port and now you should see the icon in the taskbar notification area., and then right click on this icon and perform the desired task.

Solution 2 : If in case you want to use additional features of this bluetooth dongle then you will have to install the drivers that came with the dongle. Insert the CD in your CD-Rom drive for the installation to continue, if any WHQL warning appears ignor it and continue installation since Microsoft does not have any WHQL policy for bluetooth devices at present.

Once installed, you can use the Bluetooth Soleil interface from your desktop to connect and sync your devices.
