450 bucks a year is hardly anything for a good mail service (if it is, I wouldn't know) without ads and all that. I'm gonna pay $100 a year for MobileMe. Now that's something!

You see, 450 bucks is not the problem for me, problem is how do I transfer the money. Moreover, I also have 3 domains, so I can always get a good email address like rohanshenoy@myowndomain.com which I have already created now!

Also whether you pay or use free service, they put a bluebottle advertisement at the footer of every email. The only difference is that if you use free mail, you will get a text-link in the footer, and if you use paid one, you will get a BIG "Powered by Bluebottle" logo with a back link. I don't want that back link on the paid account.

And as regards their zero-spam claim, it is rubbish. All they do is if the sender is not on your contact list, they simply put all the mail in the 'Pending' folder, irrespective of whether they are actually spam or not. Now tell me which email service provider will not be able to make such a claim if this is how their system works. Moreover, one the senders email is on your contact list, all future emails coming through that email address are directly transferred to your inbox without verifying if the mail was really from the sender or somebody spoofed it. I sent an email from my localhost using a email address on my contact list and it made to the inbox.

Also they gave very short notice for free users to vacate the mail boxes and they do not even have a facility to export contact list.

Also, the Bluebottle service is incurring heavy losses.

Now tell me, why would I pay for a under-featured service when I am not sure if they will be able to run the service smoothly in future considering that I can myself host my email account? The 'only' reason I was using bluebottle's email was because the username 'rohanshenoy' was available. But this 'bluebottle' sounded some kind of weird when I used to tell my email address to others. Blue bottle gives some other kind of impression, not a neat one to many ;)

Of course I am thankful to Bluebottle for what they have provided, but this was a very good time to exit the free mail and use my own domain. Someone said "All that happens is for good"-true!
