Avast free antivirus allows that. Just add any address you want to block. Almost all security suite comes with parental control which can block any site by name.

Nothing wrong in it, people are entitled to have different views based on their experience. Avast saved me many times from infected sites. My friends got infected there unknowingly but Avast web shield stopped the site from dropping malware.

K9 web protection is a stand alone parental control program. A good option.

Go to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts". Add this at the end:

127.0.0.1 (press a TAB or two) <Add weblink here>

and save the file. Now, in the internet options dialog box, add 'localhost' to be bypassed.

^the solution is default & simple but it literally time consuming...

tbh, I don't trust third-party apps for anything. :D Hence the solution I provided. :D

we all depend on 3rd party apps.so u use only microsoft applications in your PC..like IE (no Firefox),
WMP (no WMP,VLC,no-codec packs) etc :-D
