blank device manager

Hi

my device manager has gone blank! there is nothing in there not even the system name.

all my system restore poitns have gone and except for a dialup connection, my LAN, WLAN, bluetooth connection...all which were listed in the network connections have dissappeared

my wlan is still workin but i cant c the icon in the taskbar n not in the network connections also

wen i connect my ipod, it comes in MY COMPUTER but its not comin in itunes or winamp.

i looked on google and found some solutions like enabling the plug n play service, changing some security permissions in the registry, restoring all services thru msconfig....nothing worked

does anyone know what 2 do?

i cant reinstall windows cuz its a laptop so in order 2 use the orig cds i will have 2 factory restore n i got 2 much data 2 backup

well incase nebody else got the same prob, and none of the solutions worked, i installed this fix and it worked !!
