Blackberry Pearl - Buy in US use in India

Do you have any idea if I can buy a blackberry pearl in US and then use it in India? Is it possible? I know there are some unlock codes available over the internet but are they reliable?

And where exactly can a buy a blackberry without a plan?

i don't think u can get a blackberry to run without a plan from the operators in india

Yep u need to enable blackberry services or push email from some operator... in india only airtel and hutch offer that...

Pearl is available for around 24k in India through Airtel or Hutch.

u can buy it from the US n use it in India only if its unlocked.....u can either get it unlocked from the vendor from whom u purchase ur handset or get it unlocked from sites such unlockitnow.com.....

but i suggest u to buy it from Airtel in India itself @ 24999 INR [ inclusive of all taxes ]
