Best sounding low end MP3 player

Which would be the best buy for the best sounding entry level MP3 player? Other features are lower priority to sound quality, esp the bass.

Earlier using the Transcend 610. Any similar model better than this one?

i am looking for best possible sound under 3k. Atleast 2gb.
