It depends on your requirements... What channels do you watch? How many tvs you plan to connect with the dth? Is quality more important than cost? Any special features you require like recording, blocking channels, etc?

Each dth has its advantages and disadvantages...

I needed a thread exactly like this one.
I need a DTC @ around 2.5k or less.
I watch almost all channels except south indian and regional.
I am going to connect one tv with it.
I keep quality, preformance, and price at same preference.
So as long as quality/performance is good, I am ready to pay.
I dont need any features as such like recording or blocking.
I just want many channels with good quality picture. HD not required.
.
How good is tatasky @ 1k?

1k is a lie like the cake.
For 1k you only get the receiver and the dish installed at your house. For receiving channels you need to do a recharge on your tatasky account. Minimum recharge is rupees150. And that is a must. Above that you can add optional channel packs starting from rupees 10 till rupees 65 per month. You should visit the website at tatasky.com and see how much you will need to pay per month for the channels you watch.
Btw these days tatasky is the cheapest dth in terms of choice of channel packages and has the widest variety of channels minus ten action.
