TBH Battlefield series single player has always been pretty crap. Multiplayer is where Battlefield series shines.

Bad company 2 had probably the best campaign out of all BF series. BF4 was the last MP I played, skipped out on Hardline and 5, played BF1 campaign only. Might get it if reviews are good.

Multiplayer only with evolving narrative.
You can play with or against AI controlled bots on an entire server.
128 players for PC and new consoles, 64 for old gen. No battle royale.
Dedicated servers.
Wide variety of vehicles. Huge combat area, air and ground.
You play as specialists, each belonging to classic BF classes. 10 specialists to start with each with unique gadgets. Weapons no longer tied to specific classes.

Wow. Though I think Battlefield series is most well suited for battle royale mode.
Dedicated servers.
Really? But the requirements must be very high to manage 128 palyers on the server.

Is it like there are multiple specializations for assault, recon, engineer and support?
Weapons no longer tied to specific classes.
Can't imagine assault carrying sniper rifle, but perhaps the sniper rifle will be part of a class specific kit.

Not sure about that, just that these specialists are based on the four BF classes. Could be more on the lines of Rainbow 6 Siege i think. Monetize the customization options.
Only a few got to attend the press pre-brief for this and above pointers were shared there, as explained in the video.

Battlefield 4 also had a commander class who was non-combat, I wonder this will have that.

10 specializations doesn't add up for 4 classes. But if you count the commander class then at two specializations each it adds up.

I am guessing it will be something like assault can be medic or shock troops (like in Battlefield 1).

some of the recent campaigns in BF were quite short, not requiring more than 3 hrs to complete, but they were still quite engaging.

I hope dedicated servers means actually dedicated, not pay EA or third party and rent their servers. This has always been scummy from EA but for them money is money i guess :D
