Hi,
I am building an Athlon64 system and have finalised and purchased most of the items except the processor and motherboard.... I was planning on getting ASUS K8N but found someone said that it will be good only if u use nVidia card. I have already purchased ATI Radeon 9600.
One main technical detail I found confusing - ASUS website for K8N mobo says 1xAGP8X (1.5V only). ATI specs seems to indicate that Radeon 9600 operates at AGP4x for 1.5V and operates at AGP8X at 0.8 V. What does this mean? Will the card run at AGP4x only (as shown in
*store.yahoo.com/directron/15agpguide.html - please cut and paste as I have turned HTML off for my posting) ? In that case, will it be better to go for ASUS K8V-X which has VIA K8T800 chipset?
Please let me asap so that I can decide and purchase...
Thanks in advance,
Arun
