Hi,
I want to buy HP Pavilion a6610in Desktop PC (FK796AA) and it costs Rs. 30,000. But when I checked the price of its components individually, they add up to Rs. 15,000. I know branded computers are expensive but this is outrageous! It's an Intel E2200, n630i chipset based desktop with 1 GB RAM and 320 GB hard disk. There's no mention of a monitor.

Please comment on this.

Because brand name and advertising revenues are attached to it. It includes some good services from the company itself like online support etc. etc.

Yet! You can go for assembled PC from some branded and reliable shop in your city ;)

I zeroed in on Dell whose prices for a similar model are Rs. 5000 more than the sum of the individual parts including legal software. HP seems to be looting people charging Rs. 15000 more. And talking of legal software, it has vista starter edition which is a joke.
