Logitech X-530 / X-540 will fit your demands perfectly.

Well the different between two Logitech models is that
X-540 has wired remote instead of controls on front right satellite, and it has some matrix mode which gives you 5.1 sound even from simple stereo sound (2.0 - 2 channel) source.

Both these systems are over my budget.Rs.5005 for X530 and Rs.5250 for X540 according to www.theitdepot.com
^^btw X-530 looks really better than X540.I saw their pics on the site

Don't go by looks.. Both are same speakers.. exactly same sub, and same satellites. But X-540 is newer, and has remote and matrix mode. I think its worth the money.

If you are very tight on budget (or are a Creative fanboy;)), have a look at Creative T6060. It has 8 Watts RMS per channel (4 channel), 18 Watts RMS center channel, 22 Watts RMS subwoofer thus making it a 72 Watts system.

For comparison, X-540 has 7.4 Watts RMS per channel (4 channel), 15.4 Watts center, and 25 Watts subwoofer, a total 70 Watts system.

So creative t6o6o better than logitech X540 i think. It costs only Rs.4350(source:www.theitwares.com) which is under my budget and has better overall RMS value i believe.
Also i saw in the itwares site abt Creative 6060 which is 6.1 system.wat is actually 6.1?Is it better than the 5.1 systems?

Btw there any good Altec Lansing offerings?

It must be Creative 6600.

It is a 6.1 system, just like 5.1 + 1 more rear center channel. Very few sound cards will support 6.1 mode, but it can up mix 5.1 source to 6.1 output. I would not recommend it as it is very uncommon mode. But added speaker will increase the sound level for sure.

And comparing T6060 with X-540, I would prefer X-540 as it gives more *crisp and clear* sound. Note that *crisp and clear* is not something that you can measure, you have to feel it. So everyone may have different opinion.

Also consider that very few will be able to hear speakers with max volume, mostly it plays at 20%-50% level. So no need of high RMS speakers if you have a small room.

Don't go for Creative SBS or M series. They are cheaper and *may be* louder, but then again loudness is treaded for *clearness* in those.

I got April Digit yesterday from one of my friends. In that speaker review they havent reviewed logitech X540 or 530.But they presented another gud one the Altec Lansing VS3251.They gave it the best buy gold award too.It is cheaper than the X540 and 530.It costs just Rs.3400 which is way below my budget.

Is it the better option than the Logitech X540 and 530 which are way over my budget?
They say though it lacks the thumping bass it sounds sweet with the rite amt of bass and treble.
