am very much sure that Kaspersky wud give you positive results... make sure you are running ur system in safe mode while running the FULL system scan....and most importnantly b sure to have the kaspersky antivirus data updated....

Do you know the name of the offending files? The simplest solution that comes to mind is booting a Knoppix/DSL/Whatever Linux live CD and deleting the files from there.

If these antiviruses are not able to remove the virus, there is nothing much that
can be done in Windows. You install Mandriva Linux (keep the Windows partition
intact) 9.1 or higher. You can access your C drive in Konqueror (similar to Explorer)
by giving the path '/mnt/win_c' , and similarly for other partitions. Now delete the
Windows files like thumbs.db, and other compressed files from the partition where
you want to take backup in a CD/DVD. Why because the virus will be hiding inside
a compressed file and if you take a backup of it, your System will be infected
again!! Now use CD burning software like XCDRoast or Nero (www.nero.com).
take a backup of the files in a CD(s). Yes Nero trial version is available for Linux.
After taking all the necessary backup and checking the CDs , delete all the
partitions. Now install Windows. Now your System should be clean.
