Technology has reached a new branching point where technologies are required to be more and more scalable. On one hand we have high powered beasts like the Sony PlayStation 3, playing games and videos at full 1080p to the low end mobiles which can at most handle a meagre resolution of 192x144. This means that developers and designers are required to create content which suits both, often the same content needs to be refactored to support both!

I think in future everything gonna converge...websites will be more optimized for mobile devices viewing rather than desktop. Netbooks with smaller form factor will double up as devices to make and receive calls. Mobile OSs will end up booting laptops.

Apple will continue making iCandies and Winmo will morph into Windows Vista Mobile - an OS that would still require powerful mobile hardware to work. Google would have shelved Android project. Some variant of Linux will appear as a dominant OS with support from Nokia, Google, Motorola, HTC and the likes...
