AMD Vega GPU to launch in March 2017

AMD has just released its first Polaris-based Radeon RX 480 graphics card aimed at mainstream market but according to latest rumors, we won't see a high-end AMD Vega GPU before March next year.

According to a rumor from Fudzilla.com, AMD's next-gen high-end GPU, codename Vega, will not be ready before early 2017, and will probably come in March 2017. The Vega GPU will be paired up with 2nd generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM2).

Apparently, HBM2-based GPUs will not be coming this year as HBM2 yields are still not high enough for consumer graphics cards. Some reports suggest that Nvidia might have a working Titan graphics card, based on HBM2, in August this year, but this is highly unlikely.

The bad side of the story is that AMD has no competing product in the high-end market and it appears that it won't have before next year. Hopefully, Vega GPU will be paired up with HBM2 and GDDR5X memory so it will cover a wider market.

Earlier rumors suggested that AMD pulled the Vega GPU launch to October this year, so there is still a chance that we will see it this year, but just not with HBM2.
