AMD Sempron 3000+ and Intel 80x86 Programming language

I want to know whether I can run program written for Intel's 8086(Assembly Language) processor on an AMD processor preferably Sempron 3000+. I know the two processors' architectures are totally different but is it possible to run Intel's 8086 Assmebly language programs on AMD machines?

Get an emulator for 80x86 on Windows...
