AMD Officially Cuts Prices on Entire Range of Ryzen Processor For AM4 and TR4 Platforms

AMD has just announced an official price cuts across the entire Ryzen family stack. The price cuts are included for all Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5, Ryzen 7 and even Ryzen Threadripper processors. This price cuts come just a few hours after AMD announced that they will be updating the Ryzen lineup with 12nm Zen+ cores in 2018, starting April.

The new price cuts make Ryzen look like an even better deal than they previously were compared to their counterparts. The price cuts are strategically aimed to hit Intel and their new product line up which include 8th gen Coffee Lake and Core X series processors.

Starting with the top segment, AMD is cutting the price of their Ryzen Threadripper 1900X from $549 US to $449 US. This $100 US cut means that the price to build a Ryzen HEDT platform is a good bit lower than the comparative Intel solution. Furthermore, going with Ryzen 1900X, you are getting 8 cores, 16 threads and 64 PCIe lanes which aren’t even available on Intel’s top chip. This makes the Threadripper an obvious choice for HEDT on a budget while retaining all the features such as lots of PCIe lanes and good longevity if you wish to replace your CPU with a faster chip such as 2nd Gen Threadripper in the second half of this year.

The Ryzen 7 series has also received cuts and now, you can purchase a 8 core, 16 thread AM4 chip for as low as $299 US which was previously $329 US. The 1800X has went down from $499 US to $349 US, the Ryzen 7 1700X has gone down to $309 (from $399 US). Similarly, the 6 core Ryzen can be purchased for as low as $189 US. This is actually a very crucial market segment as they will be directly competing with the Intel’s Core i5-8400 in this segment. That 6 core, 6 thread offering may not have multi-threading but it does come good out of the box gaming performance and AMD will be keeping an eye out for other chips in this budget segment.

Finally, the Ryzen 5 / 3 quad core parts are down with 1500X now at $174 US. AMD has announced two Raven Ridge desktop APUs too with the entry level part for as low as $99 US (more details here on this page). The Ryzen price cuts are definitely a nice welcome by the mainstream and high-end users which certianly means one things, the AMD CPU market share is going to go pretty up by the end of 2018.

I'm just waiting for the $99 Ryzen 2200G to launch in India hopefully at not more than 8k.And pair it with 4gb 1050ti and 8gb ddr4 ram.

Good news indeed but I'm expecting a price cut from the rival team as well specially when there's processors are now being hammered by 'Meltdown' and 'Spectre'.
