ALSA sharing

How can i share my soundcard between various applications, so that they can use it simultaneously ? Now rhythmbox often gives me error that the device is busy when some other applucations which use sound is started.

Thanks ujjwal, i too wanted it.
though in FreeBSD, this already works. It has OSS instead of ALSA in default install
