AC97 Integrated Sound Card Issues in Vista RTM

Though Vista RTM automatically recognizes and installs appropriate driver, the integrated sound card doesn't work properly. The Line-In is disabled. Microphone doesn't seem to work properly. Worst, the sound slows down i.e., there are breaks and cracks in between.

Installing latest drivers from the Net didn't help either.

Any solutions? If not, which PCI sound card works perfectly with Vista?
