A good Ebook reader around 5000/-

I want to buy a good ebook reader
(As Medicine Books are costly I want to read them as ebooks)

my budget is around 5000/-

can tablets be used as ebook readers? (If so witch one is best for reading)

Spend 1.1K more and get a tablet like Ainol 7 Mars which has good resolution like 1024x600 px. You can also get Basic Kindle for 6K, but it doesn't have color display.
