are u sure as i have heard that in SLI mode the performance of graphics card gets doubled

^^^ no in sli mode performance doesnt get doubled.also not all games and apps benefit from sli.
even if they get doubled all u'll get is 64 stream processors in total(32 in each 8600GT so 64 in total) and 8800GTS 320MB has 96 stream processors.so its beyond doubt that 8800GTS 320MB >>>>>> 2*8600GT 256MB in SLi
