already have a corsair VX450, input devices and a 1 TB hdd.

this good enough for gaming? planning to oc a bit.

should i wait for BD? whats this news about AMD's piledriver coming out soon after BD? also, whats the release status of intel's ivy bridge chipset?

  • will PD be BD compatible?
  • will IB be SB compatible?
  • are the chipsets/sockets going to change soon?

also, tell me what kind of performance the above rig is capable of.
like, fps of games like COD Black Ops, Crysis, Team Fortress 2, The Witcher, etc or benchmark scores would really help a lot.

BMG ftw!!
corsair VX450 is not sufficient to power 6950 OCed card. Try corsair GS800 if your budget is low or go fot HX1000 for future proof config.

There are some members in our forum running C2Q(OCed)+gtx560ti with VX450 w/o any issues... Still its not recommended..

MSI Radeon 6870 HAWK - 11.5K...

within limits, but looking at the furmark scores, it might get a bit under load, esp if oc'd.
but i dont think that kind of loads will be there in normal usage.

Yup, wait a month for BD to release and another month for its prices to fall. Then you can decide which one to go for, depending upon performance BD's performance.
