4K TV 40-50k

1. Budget?
40-50k, for parents

2. Display type and size?
43" or 50", heard VA has better contrast than IPS but suffers from viewing angles, how bad is it?

3. What will the TV/monitor be used for primarily?
Set top box, some movies via DVD/USB, gaming by me (pretty rare)

4. Types and number of ports required?
3 HDMI

5. Preferred choice of brand?
Samsung & LG, not sure others have service centers in Andaman. Faced a lot of problems with old Sony TV after a year, so parents want something which can be repaired locally

6. Any TV/monitor in consideration?
Samsung 43NU7470, hopefully it is 50k or lower in local stores there. Other models, Samsung NU7100 & LG 43UK6360PTE

7. Any other info that you want to share.
Will be used by my parents in Andaman, shit internet for now, but things will change next year hopefully. Would like to avoid some TV which got a lot of important stuff in latest software update. Amazon & Flipkart doesn't deliver there. Will connect it to a Sony 5.1 speaker system, I think almost all TVs have HDMI ARC these days.

Find this in local stores.
2018 model gets the magic remote while 2019 model does not come bundled with magic remote, so opted for this.

Cheaper VA panels have it poor, any viewing angle negative comments you see on 2019 lowest end VU tv models is because of this exactly as earlier they used to put ips panels even in their lowest end TVs.

Between samsung & LG,go with whichever provides more extended warranty as nowadays 2 years warranty is recommended.

In a way I'm not considering cheap models. Apparently Samsung ones have VA (based on some users), not sure if its that bad. Anyways will try to see if its available for demo.

Apparently 43UM7290PTF is the one w/o magic remote but was cheaper in amazon as well. Not sure if magic remote is something my parents will use even when the internet improves.

The model you listed is definitely on my radar. Also, LG seems to be offering 3 year warranty due to festive season, that is definitely a plus point for LG.

Samsung VA panels are in a different class altogether compared to cheap VA panels used by VU in their low end models. Even VU itself use good quality VA panels in their mid/high range models.

What about LG 4k panels?
What about newly released OnePlus OLED Panels?
Any suggestions are welcome...

LG for OLED(C series recent models but quite costly)
Samsung for QLED(again models costing ~60-70k+)
I wouldn't suggest one plus,at least not without seeing it in person displaying some hd channel & 4k content.

I am the master of my Fate.
Oneplus is a QLED panel and I am sure they have taken the display from Samsung :)

OLED TV are marvelous, but I don't recommend them for Gaming & lots of Static content and also due to their Organic nature they will degrade with Time.
So, better stick with QLED or VA panels from Sony or even IPS.

Leaning towards LG UM7300 Even rtings has a good review for it. Its priced the same as Samsung RU7100 here, 50k vs 51k for LG. LG is offering full 3 year warranty vs 1 year of Samsung (3 year for panel though).

Not sure how bad 120Hz PWM would be. I didn't feel it to be bad when I checked.

How is Motorola 4K TV advertised in flipkart.
They are saying in youtube reviews that its an LG Panel.

Depends on your budget.
If my budget is 40k then LG 4k with smart remote which only comes with 2018 models only. 2019 models does not come with smart remote.
Is 2018 model good or should I go with Motorola 4K since it comes with LG panels?
Please suggest.
Thanks.

I would personally get myself a very good display and choose Chromecast or FireStick. Going for the smart TVs is good, but you can invest that in a good panel.

Check demo of lg & panasonic in showrooms in this price range.Or you can go for VU premium android tv with half the budget & get extended warranty so even if tv lasts 2 years, your money will get its worth.

See my above reply, not many reviews for motorola tv even on hifivision forums so I suggest to check lg & samsung models available in the price range at nearest showrooms.
I want to buy either from Flipkart or Amazon. That's why asking for suggestion.
