1.) Pls be more clear about this question.

2.) Goto: Start -> Run and type regedit.
Nevigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer

And check whether a DWORD value named ForceClassicControlPanel exists. If its there then simply change its value to 0

3.) Again in regedit, nevigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell

And check first, whether the Default is set to openas, if not then change it to openas, and delete the key Open if exists.

4.) Right-click on My computer's icon and select Properties and goto Advanced tab, click on Setting button in Performance section and uncheck the option Use shadow under menus.

Answer's

1.Click Start, Run and type REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
or

go to command prompt (cmd.exe)
in the command prompt “cd c:\windows\system32 (no quotes)
Then “xmlinst –u
“regsvr32 msxml3.dll
Close cmd prompt

this happens due to some change in registry (usually happens if you un-register the file shimgvw.dll )

2.U may hide it.go to control panel on the top left u find control panel just click on the Downward arrow
u find the two option.

3.U may previosuly selected the notepad option with the CHECK mark in the box that all way's open with these application. To change it go to the program which u want to open Right click it go to properties change the arichve.

4.In some theme's u may find such a thing and nothing wrong with that.
