Its *3370# and not what you've mentioned. Also the half rate and enhanced full rate function has been disabled in all new Nokia phones. So don't be surprised if the above mentioned code doesn't work too.

Yeah same here. Never noticed any difference. In the newer phones they've integrated in the settings menu (power save).
